Currency theft Crypto in 2018 to achieve Rp23,9 Trillion


A report released by security company siber Cipher Trace shows the currency theft  (cryptocurrency) surged 400 percent by 2018 to US $1.7 billion or approximately Rp23,9 trillion.

This figure is risen 260 percent from Rp3,7 trillion in 2017. About Rp13,3 trillion from Rp23,9 trillion stolen from a currency exchange service and a digital wallet.

Quoting Reuters, about 58 percent of cases of currency theft reported at most crypto in South Korea and Japan. As a result in January 2019 currency rates up to 80 per cent slump crypto compared the same period a year earlier

Along with this, investors and users reportedly lost about US $725 million or approximately Rp10,2 trillion due to exit the scam. But in the year 2017, a similar case just ate around US $56 million or equivalent Rp789 billion.


"These figures only represent the results of looting from the evils of the crypto can be validated by CipherTrace; We have little doubt that the amount of actual losses much bigger crypto assets,"says in his report.
